Match Report | With a new team, not having played together before, missing team mates and some last minute additions the Caradon 4’s had the unenviable task of playing their own club mates against the Ladies 3’s. For the first ten minutes they held their own until a couple of goals from the 3’s slipped passed them. The 4’s battled throughout the match but some good stick work and play from the 3’s meant that the score line kept increasing but despite this, the 4’s kept battling on and didn’t let their heads drop. Good team work in midfield and up front from Browner, Katie Johnston, Izzy Hedley, Leah Strevens and Sasha Riddle but despite this the 4’s just couldn’t seem to get the ball past the oppositions goalie. With Josie Dudley,Anna Gubbins and Rachel Quick in defence and with Georgia Eddy in goal, they were constantly under attack by their opponents, defending short corners and strikes from strong attacking forwards. The 4’s however, never gave up and when awarded a short corner towards the end of the second half, it was eventually slotted into the oppositions goal by Izzy Hedley. Player of the match was jointly won by Izzy Hedley and Leah Strevens. |
