Women's 3rd XI Vs Launceston

Caradon 3's gave their home supporters something to cheer about with a cracking 7 - 0 win against Launceston.  Resulting in an incredible 44 goals over the seven league games played so far.

Up front player, Lauren Gerry began play with great momentum sending the ball skimming past the keeper in the ninth minute.  This followed with a well rehearsed short corner where Abi Larigo chipped in a tight post ball.  Launceston goal keeper held strong and fought off many attacking attempts but with centre back Sharon Jeffery's assist to Pippa Hedley there was no stopping the third goal.  Caradon ensured passes were strong and accurate and with player of the match Libby Walsh continuous efforts to drive play forward Caradon held possession tightly.  Right back player Emma Gliddon sped up the wing to find Lauren Gerry who chipped in another. 

At half time coach, Clare Poad gave the team tactical advise.  Her motivational words clearly worked as four minutes into the second half Katie Fear found the back of the net with ease.  Launceston picked up pace with their captain and mid players showing experience on the ball.  They were awarded three short corners throughout the game but Caradon held strong on each occasion to ensure no goals were awarded.

Both left wing and left back players Amber Jeffery and Gemma Samuel showed skill as they swopped positions throughout the second half.  Pippa Hedley picked up the sixth goal while Lauren Gerry sealed a hat trick within minutes of the final whistle, resulting in seven unanswered goals.

Captain Nicola Batten complemented the team in yet another outstanding win and was overjoyed her Gran, Freda Arthur was able to witness it from the sidelines!
