Match Report

Another cold and wet day greeted Caradon 3s when they travelled to Bodmin on Saturday to play Bodmin second team. Caradon started well and pushed straight into the Bodmin half and penatrated their ‘D’. Bodmins defence and fantastic goal keeper fought hard to keep off the Caradon attack. Finally Caradon hit the back board and went a goal ahead. Bodmin however retaliated and levelled the score. Caradon pushed again and slotted another home but Bodmin weren’t to be outdone, hit a long ball to a high unmarked player and with only the keeper to beat, levelled the score line again. The game became a bit scrappy for a bit but Caradon still managed to finish the first half 4-2 up. With a few tweaks at half time and a focus on ball speed and passing accuracy, Caradon came back on the pitch in the second half with a more fluid game. Better passing and build up play followed and Caradon came away 9-2 winners and back on top of the league. Goal scorers were Sarah Stevens (5) Lauren Gerry (2) Libby Walsh and Katie Fear. Player of the match was jointly won by Isobel Hedley and Abi Larigo.
