Match Report | Caradon 2’s travelled down to Penryn to play top of the league Camborne SOM. Caradon knew this would be a tough match, but brimming with confidence they came out looking to stop the oppositions perfect run in the league. A determined Camborne team were hungry for the win, however though a more concentrated team effort along with the force in goal that is keeper Zoe Harris, Caradon battled against Cambornes attacking runs. Caradon came back fighting, not giving up to challenge the oppositions defence for the final time. Venessa Scott drove the base line catching Camborne off guard, producing a shot on goal which deflected into the path of Reed, whose mid air strike sailed past the keeper to equalise in the last five minutes of the game. Up until today’s game Camborne had only conceded two goals in the entire season! Camborne had the chance to seal victory in the final minute of the game, when one of Cambornes strikers broke through Caradons defence to set up a one on one with the GK, but Player of the Match Harris closed her down to pull off a fine save, giving Caradon a well deserved 2-2 draw. This was by far the best performance to date by the ever improving 2s with every player working hard to grind out a fantastic result. |
