Women's 1st XI Vs Duchy

Caradon travelled to Duchy to play in the quarter final of the county cup. 

The game started with Caradon in a confidant mood, dominating the early exchanges and creating numerous chances on goal. The deadlock was finally broken when Fleur Worden swept home after good work on the rigt side of the pitch. The scoreline was soon 2-0 when skipper, Clare Poad, clinically dispatched a penalty corner.

Player of the match, Charlie Harris was enjoying lots of space in the middle of the pitch and linked well with Vanessa Scott who was making her debut for the first team. The scoreline could have been a lot higher if it had not been for the Duchy keeper who made severall last ditch saves. Carrina Hodge and Helen Manley intercepted many Duchy pahases of play and continued to feed the hungry fowards. Scott grabbed a deserved goal just before the break and Duchy were relieved to hear the half time whistle.

The second half saw Caradon slightly loose thier way. Passing became erractic and rushed and gradually Duchy began to create chances of thier own. The game became scrappy with both teams struggling to maintain possesion of the ball. Duchy grabbed 2 goals in reply in the final 10 minutes but Caradon held on to claim a place in the semi final where they will face thier arch rivals, Newquay, on the 4th April.

Caradon now enjoy a weeks break and return to league duties on the 22nd where they face Plym Vally at Lux Park.
