What a performance from the fours today!!
We played against Falmouth 2s at home in the chilly, post Christmas weather!
Caradon didn’t let the fact that Falmouth play the league above them knock their confidence and came out with great energy and spirit.
Falmouth were straight on the attack but the defenders and goalie wouldn’t let them find the back board. The play was fast (especially after the extra Christmas calories) but everyone battled as a team. With some quick passes up through the field over coming many of Falmouth we found their D and also found their players foot, which awarded us a short corner. Tilly Scott gave a strong push out to Kirsty Merrin who passed it to Neve Hunn and it found the back board with power leaving the home team 1 up.
They responded quickly with goal and the pace built more and Caradon kept battling. But Falmouth found the back board a further 5 times before half time.
A positive half time talk gave Caradon a boost to start the second half! And once again they were the first to score from a short corner by Neve Hunn.The team played. exceptionally well for the second half and battled endlessly for the 50/50 balls and in every element of the game. The defenders worked hard leaving Falmouth only able to get 2 further well worked goals past them.
The game play from all today was amazing, especially for the Ladies 5 players that were pulled up.
Awesome first match back after Christmas.
