Match Report

Caradons Mens 3rds traveled up to Plymouth to face off against OPM B. The grey miserable weather didn't dampen the spirits of either team in what was a face paced and very good natured game. The teams were very evenly matched, Caradons defense were a lot more confident than in their first meeting and seemed to deal with any OPM attack quickly and easily. The visitors weren't having any luck at the home either, as the OPM defense picked up any Caradon attack and recycled it quickly back to the midfield. After serveral failed attemps OPM managed to thread a ball through to their forward, who with the slighest of touches managed to flick the ball past the diving Caradon keeper to take carry a 1-0 lead up to halftime.

OPM's started the second half flat out, constantly trying to overload Caradons right back, however Glen Young was doing a stirling job of stopping their attacks, helped by Joel Tamblyn the pair of them were a thorn in the side of the OPM attack. OPM did test the Caradon keeper again but both the initial shot and following rebound were scooped up without any issues. Despite their best intentions Caradon just couldn't find the OPM goal, they came close on a couple of occasions but would denied by the final whistle. Though the game was a 1-0 loss, the team shows a lot of improvement and a growing confidence and as long if they can show an improvement when they play each team again in the second half of the season they can be pleased with thier performance.
