Match Report | Caradons Mens 3rds faced off against PGSOB C on Saturday, who are sitting at the top of South West 2. The Plymouth team arrived with their team coach, giving away how well drilled they would be and straight away they piled on the pressure hemming the home team back in their own half. Caradon absorbed this pressure for quite some, as the defence worked over time blocking sour after shot and cutting out attacks before they became a danger. The home team just couldn't clear their quarter of pitch and it became just a matter of time before PG's made the most of this pressure and managed to put the ball in the net. And they did, conceding a goal seemed to shake the home team as PG's managed to get two more in quick succession, finishing the first half 3-0. The second half was a more even affair, with the Caradon youngsters working their hardest yet, Drew Champion was up and down the pitch helping in defence and then pushing forward with the attack. A goal was still eluding Caradon though and PG's managed to slot in another two before the full time whistle. Another loss for the 3rds but it was a was good effort that shows how much they have improved in a short space of time. I'm sure the team will keep improving and it won't be long before their first league points follow too. |
