Match Report

Caradon ladies fist team returned to winning ways on Saturday when the beat ISCA 6-1.

Keen to leave last weeks defeat behind them, Caradon started the game at a great pace. With a high press and determined midfield play, the home team began to pile on the pressure and it wasnt long before they took the lead. Bizzie Dinnis converted a good phase of play to score her first of the day.

Katie Jones found space in the middle of the pitch and it was from one of her direct runs towards goal that the first penalty corner of the day was awarded. Clare Poad made no mistake when she fired into the bottom corner to double the lead. Caradon increased thier lead just before half time when Dinnis finished from close range to make it 3-0.

ISCA continued to be penned in thier own half and long wishfull balls were thier only outlet. Player of the match Amy Batty put in a dominant perormance and led her defence brilliantly with Julia Eldridge and Daisy Hunn both having solid games.

Caradon continued to push forward and good play on the right led to Poad grabbing her second after being left unmarked in the circle. With goal differrance being a possable factor in promotion, Caradon remained goal hungry and continued to create good chances. Dinnis completed her hat trick when a well worked penalty corner routine was slotted home.

A rare mistake in the centre of the pitch led to a rare chance for the visitors and they cooly converted but the result was never in doubt and it was left to winger, Fleur Worden, to grab her first of the season when she tapped in at the far post.

A comfortable win was made even better when hearing that Caradons league rivals had thier first defeat of the season leaving Caradon sitting pretty at the top of the table at the Christams break.

The league resumes in mid January and after a near perfect firt half of the season, Caradon need to keep focus and continue to take one game at a time.
