Match Report | Caradon travelled to lipson college to take on league new comers, Plym valley, and battled to a 4-2 win. Plym Valley started at a great pace and were soon 2-0 up, leaving the Caradon players looking around trying comprehend what had just happened. The score line could have been worse if not for a fantastic chase back and tackle by Helen Manley. This seemed to inspire the team to up thier work rate and create some real pressure in the attacking half. Half chances were either well saved by the keeper or fizzed past the uprights. Caradon enjoyed lenghty spells of possesion and got a well deserved goal back when Clare Poad nutmegged the keeper to get the score to 2-1 at the half term break. Caradon knew what had to be improved in the second halve and straight from the whistle started to implement thier game plan. Being more competitive and working in pairs to turn over play was working well and it wasnt long before Bizzie Dinnis equaled the scores after a fine reverse shot from the top right of the circle. Player of the match, Beth Harris, was controlling the center of the pitch and her dominating display only inspired her midfield to create more phases of play and really start to put huge amounts of pressure on the valleys' defence. Carrina Hodge was in bullish mood and battled with great energy. After winning yet another 50/50 ball her pass was met by Dinnis, who shot on her reverse from the left hand top of the circle to find the backboard. Now in the lead for the first time, Caradon seemed to play with more freedom and this really suits Caradon. The final goal and contender for goal of the season, involved atleast 7 players all passing quickly and changing angles, that resulted in Dinnis sliding in at the far post to complete her hat trick and finsh off a text book team move. Sitting at the top of the league table, Caradon resume league duties in 2 weeks time when they take on Duchy at Lux Park. |
