These two sides have played 3 times before in the last 2 years and every game has ended in a draw so it was probably no surprise that this game should maintain the trend as the spoils were once again shared. Caradon made a decent start and were a goal to the good after 10 minutes. Stephen Hayes received a clearance from the back and broke into the oppositions half where he was able to feed Paul Hunt on the right who then crossed perfectly into the box for Ben Reynolds to strike into the goal. Dart came back into the game and had a 10 minute spell of pressure but were unable to fashion any guilt edge chances but as the half wore on it looked more likely that Caradon would stretch their lead only to be thwarted by some good keeping. Dart started the second half the better side and within 5 minutes were level and then soon after, with Caradon reduced to 10 men for a couple of minutes, Dart took the lead. Caradon looked to re-establish themselves in the game but the Dart keeper produced a number of decent saves to protect their lead and it started to look ominous for Caradon. Then with 10 minutes remaining Caradon started to throw more options into attack and when Captain David Lockett moved further forward it helped create more routes to goal. He took a quick self passed free hit from outside the 23 and drove into the D and from the right found a perfect shot to squeeze the ball between the keeper and his near post. Both sides had opportunities to find the winner with Dart finishing the match with a short corner that Caradon were relieved to scramble clear. A draw was probably a fair reflection on the game and Evan Spencer took the nod as man of the match although Liam Champion and Tristan Young were also contenders.
