Match Report

Caradon arrived at Totnes with the game very much in doubt as the heavy rain was starting to make its presence felt with standing water evident on one corner of the pitch which meant the conditions were constantly monitored through the game with the treat of abandonment ever present.  Caradon made a strong start and were soon a goal to the good as David Lockett found some space down the right and crossed for Ben Reynolds to strike home.  Midway through the first half Caradon doubled there lead as shots from Mike Parkinson and Paul Hunt were repelled by the home goalkeeper until Ben Reynolds was able to poke home the final rebound.  Caradon had a number of half chances to extend their lead before half time but were unable to take them.  In the second half Caradon seemed to lose shape and composure in the pursuit of a third goal and although they created a number of guilt edge chances the team began to play more like 11 individuals which enabled Dart to get back into the game with two quick goals midway through the second half.  Caradon were able to regroup enough to avoid going behind but could not fashion a winner that there first half display justified.  Everytime this fixture has been played it has ended in a draw so it was hardly surprising that the final score of 2-2 should see the points shared.  Ben Reynolds was man of the match for his brace of goals and next up will be the visit of Truro on Saturday with a 1-30pm start.
