Match Report

Caradon Men's Second Team secured the divisional title a week after confirming promotion with a resounding 17-1 victory over Plymouth University.  This was another opportunity to give Third Team players a game of league hockey ahead of them hopeful joining the league next season and once again they did not disappoint with Joel Tamblyn and Ben Reynold again proving their worth.  Having scored early through Ben Hedley the students hit back to bring the scores level as they broke from their own half and beat stand in keeper Mike Parkinson.  This only threw young Ben Hedley into a goal scoring frenzy as he scored 4 before half time as Caradon piled on the pressure.  WIth the score 8-1 at half time it was David Lockett's turn to go on a goal scoring rampage and he even had time to miss a penalty flick but the biggest cheer of the day was reserved for Rapper Tamblin who got on the scoresheet for the first time.  Lockett finished with seven, Hedley six whilst young Evan Spencer with two and Jake Andrews with one were the other scorers.  The final score of 17-1 was their biggest ever win eclipsing the 15-0 result from last month and having now scored 90 goals this season they need 10 more from their final game to bring up the century - with this young team anything is possible.
