Match Report | Caradon Ladies 3's knew it would be a challenging game as they faced tough opposition - Marjons 4's. Marjons intercepted a loose ball and slipped in an early goal. Caradon retaliated with a nice one two ball up the field however their quick break was swiftly halted. It was Sadie Mullis who picked up pace and impressed home supporters with a driving run down the line. Caradon’s driving momentum found them at the D with a shot on goal that was kicked out by Marjons keeper. Marjons dodged past Caradon’s defensive line to pick up their second goal. Up front player Ellen Spencer reacted to this with a successful slam on goal moments before the whistle. In the second half Marjons picked up a further two goals, Caradon's head did not drop and they simply pushed on with grit and determination. It was Sadie Mullis who picked up the final second goal with an impressive reverse stick from a short corner pass. Mid player of the match Abi Larigo showed great strength and experience as she pushed play forward. Despite some good hockey it simply was not Caradon's day. The team should feel proud of their efforts and focus on the positives ready for next weeks match against Launceston. |
