Women's 3rd XI Vs Plymouth Uni 3

Plym Uni 3’s dominated play in the first quarter, however Caradon 3’s stepped on the gas and changed pace. Player of the match Saffy Cripps could be spotted darting around the pitch interrupting and intercepting play giving Caradon the deffinite advantage. Her impressive run down the line seen Caradon awarded their first short corner. Plym Uni keeper however was unbeatable as she deflected all ten short corner attempts in the first half. Caradon mixed up play and added varied short corner combinations but it simply was not affective against the well skilled keeper.

However Abi Larigo found the perfect position by the post and popped in a powerful incoming cross  ball. Positive play continued with Emma Gliddon running past several defenders into the D to find Pippa Hedley who successfully delivered a straight strike.

The second half seen Plym Uni continuing to apply the pressure narrowing the gaps forcing Caradon to make the odd blunder. Caradon became rattled but soon relaxed into their usual calm and collected style with a goal from Libby Walsh and impressive reverse stick from Ellen Spencer.

A quick driving line ball resulted in Plym Uni finding the back of the net for the first of the game. Spectators cheered as this stylish goal was certainly no average sight!

Caradon Player Ellen retaliated with a fifth goal, Katie Jones stepped up from centre back in the final seven minutes to score Caradon’s final sixth goal. The team celebrated in style with the air horns of a Burcombe lorry that was parked in prime position on the sideline.
