Match Report | Within minutes of the whistle starting play, third team player Ellen Spencer scored her first goal. Adding a further two throughout the game to make it a well deserved hat-trick. Launceston’s strong and experienced players drove the middle and weren’t long till they also scored their first. Caradon soon learnt they needed to be quicker on the ball and close the gaps. The second goal game from a well rehersed short corner impressing Caradon’s home team supporters. Caradon learnt a valuable lesson when their short corner was intercepted and quickly driven down the wing towards an empty backline. The launceston player who made the run unaided found the back of the net much to Caradon’s disappointment. This quick break taught the team the importance to track back and not sit too high. The chill in the air did not affect the strength in play in the second half. With all round good play from everyone in particular player of the match Libby Walsh. Caradon held majority of play within their half with a cross to Sarah Strevens who seen Caradon pick up their third goal. The final fourth goal came from yet another successful short corner. It was another successful match for Caradon 3’s but they know next week will bring a fresh set of challenges. |
