Match Report | Caradon 3’s dominated play from the get go on Saturday. They entertained their home supporters at Lux Park with a 6-2 win. The team came out strong and found their first goal within minutes of the whistle, delivered by Abi Larigo. Pippa Hedley inspired the team to play a quick ball and drove the wing with some magical crosses. Also on fire was Sarah Strevens who found the back of the net not once but three times during the game! Bodmin were to be commended on their attacking short corner as an experienced striker delivered a powerful and successful shot on goal. Caradon defence worked hard to avoid giving them further opportunities blocking their key players and pushing play up to the mid field. It was decided at half time to mix up positions and take advantage of the strong lead. A tidy push out to Ellen Spencer seen a powerful strike towards Bodmin keeper who was unable to keep it out. Coaching sessions on short corners paid off as you could see clear communication with varied tactics. Not to forget Emma Gliddon who set up the perfect pass to Libby Walsh who was ready and waiting not missing an opportunity to score. It was no surprise to hear once the match had finished nearly every player had a nomination for ‘Player of the Match’. With many votes given to Charlie Perkins a new member of the club. It was pleasing to see a newly formed team gell so well together. Let’s hope this strength continues throughout the season. |
