Match Report |
Caradon 2’s travelled down to Truro to play their first team ladies on Saturday; Truro sitting at the bottom of the table meant Caradon had high hopes for another victory! Truro however had other ideas and battled hard to keep the Caradon threats at bay most of the way through the first half with their keeper making numerous saves to keep her goal sheet clean. A break came with only a few minutes left of the first half when Charlotte Reed bounced on a loose ball and put Caradon one goal ahead. A calming but positive team talk engaged the team to ease up on the head strong tackles and gain back control and possession; with this in their heads Caradon started to play their normal passing game using their wide players and building the play, Sadie Mullis was the next to score with a well worked slip on a short corner and then Erryn Lockett was rewarded for her hard work up front with goal number 3, which gave Caradon a satisfactory goal cushion. Caradon continued to dominate with Charlie Harris working tirelessly in the midfield along with Rach Luiten, Emma Jayne Mullis and Bryony Gubbins. Tania held strong in Pivot and the back players of Rachel Spencer, Daisy Hunn, Claire Brown and Leah Jones swept up any loose balls and drove them back into danger. Keeper Zoe Harris had a very slow day in the office! Player of the match was jointly won by Erryn Lockett and Charlie Harris. This Saturday sees a very different task as they take on promotion pushers Bodmin who sit second in the league.
