Match Report | A unseasonably hot afternoon for a game of hockey proved hard work for both sides on Saturday. Luckily for both Newquay 2’s and Caradon 2’s subs were a plenty. Newquay started the stronger team and were attacking the home sides D within the first few minutes. Caradon’s defence worked hard together to thwart these attacks and goal keeper Zoe Harris stood firm in goal. Thankfully this shaky start soon ended and Caradon began to work well together to drive the ball forward. It was an end to end game throughout the 70minutes with both teams having chances in front of goal. Caradon did however have the marjority of the play with their mid field working tirelessly to win back the ball time and time again to push the ball back into the danger area but just didn’t have the luck in front of goal to sneak the 3 points. However another point was welcomed by this new look team and with everyone giving 100% on the pitch the rest will hopefully soon slip into place. Claire Brown was this weeks player of the match. |
