Match Report | Caradon 1s entertained bottom of the table ISCA and won comfortably 7-0. Confidence was high after last weeks come back against Bude and pressure was immediately applied to the ISCA goal. Attacking play from Player of the Match, Helen Manley, led to numerous shots on goal. Caradon had to remain patient and it was a goal mouth scramble that saw Laura Hill bundle the ball across the line for the opening goal. ISCAs' keeper had to leave the field due to an injury which meant the visitors playing with a kicking back. Caradon struggled to take advantage of this situation and it wasn't until 5 minutes from the half time break that Marcia Burgess struck home for her first goal of the season. With a replacement ISCA keeper taking her place for the second half, Caradon continued to press forward. Midfielders Beth Harris, Nic Dymond and Carinna Hodge were dominant and winning lots of turnover play. Bizzie Dinnis capitalised on loose defending to take the score line to 4-0 and for the first time this season Caradon were now comfortable and looking to protect a clean sheet. Amy Batty looked safe in defence and any break away chances were well dealt with by Helen Dellbridge. Lauren Gouge was having a great game on the left, offering an option to switch play. Skipper, Clare Poad had a clean strike to make it 5-0 but the goal of the game was saved to last when an interception and powerfull run forward by Manley led to a perfectly timed pass to Dinnis who swept home for her second hat trick in two weeks. A solid team performance puts Caradon in a good position to take on league leaders, Newquay this Saturday. |
