Women's 1st XI Vs Plymouth Marjon 2

Caradon restarted thier league campaign against a youthfull Marjons team and earnt a well deserved point. This fixture has always been a closely fought contest and this was no differant. 

Caradon started strongly and had the best of the opening chances but it was Marjons who rushed to a 2 goal lead, scoring from penalty corners on both occasions.

Caradon were a little deflated at the half time break but were determined to redeem themselves in the second half and started to play with more freedom. Midfielders Carrina Hodge and Beth Harris were winning the possesion battle and the game was becoming stretched which suited the home teams style of play. 

Forward, Bizzie Dinnis, took matters into her own hands and scored a great solo effort to continue the belief that Caradon could get atleast a point from the game but soon after Marjons were awarded a penalty flick and it was duely dispatched to regain thier two goal lead.

Caradon are now well known for a comeback and this game was no differant. Chances were being created from both sides of the pitch and penalty corners awarded. Dinnis capitalised on a loose ball in the circle to close the gap but it was player of the match, Amy Batty who scored the equaliser after firing home from a rebounded shot on goal.

With seconds remaining, Dinnis broke past the last defender and was bearing down on goal, only to be stopped by the full time whistle. 

Caradon can be pleased with yet another come back performance but must start better in future games to continue their progression up the league.
