Women's 1st XI Vs Taunton Vale 2

Caradon travelled to Taunton missing a few key players but still came away with an important 3 points.

Katie Jones and Daisy Hunn were making thier debuts for the first team and settled in straight away, both sticking to thier roles well and providing outlets for the hard working defence.

Caradon took the lead early in the first half when Bizzie Dinnis calmly finishing off a well worked penalty corner routine. The scoreline was soon 2-0 when skipper Clare Poad scored from a straight strike from another penalty corner. Caradon were in control, Reenie Hodge and Marcia Burgess pulling the strings in the middle of the park. Even when Taunton pulled a goal back from a corner of their own, Caradon still looked in control and Poad and Dinnis both scored again from penalty corners to make the score 4-1 at the break.

Despite some great saves from Helen Delbridge and great defensive play from player of the match Amy Batty, Taunton pulled a goal back but instantly Caradon restored thier 3 goal when Hunn nonchalently scored on her reverse. As Caradon began to tire Taunton continued to push forward and create chances but every time they scored, Caradon would score one of thier own. Poad completing her hat trick to effectively kill the game off and secure a vital away win.

Caradon now have a break from the league until the new year but play thier quarter final of the county cup against Camborne at home on the 15th December at Lux Park 1.30 start.
