Match Report | After securing promotion Caradon men’s 1st XI have set their eyes on winning the league and continued to score points against Plymouth Marjon winning 6-0. The game started with a high tempo, Caradon winning the ball off a well formed press, an experienced Marjon defence stopped Caradon taking an early lead.
The first goal came from a David Fasey short corner, picking his spot and powering it past the keeper. The second was also a David Fasey short corner, picking up a miss trapped ball and hitting into the back board.
Continuing to apply pressure Caradon looked to press home their lead, a number attempts were either saved or whistled past the post. Ben Hedley calmly scored, beating the keeper at the near post after a well formed attack down the right. Will Turpin got the fourth with a bit of help from the defender taking Caradon into half time 4-0 up.
The second half started with a lot less tempo than the first, with neither team creating chances the score remained 4-0 well into the second half. Caradon then broke the deadlock again, with Finn Andrews finding space on the right, dribbling around the keeper and pushing the ball over the line. A David Fasey areal our of defence was picked up by Chris Fasey deep in the Marjon half, Chris found Ben on the top of the D, beating his man Ben slipped the ball passed the keeper to Finn who slotted the ball home and claimed his second for the game. With the final whistle Caradon won 6-0 and are two games away from winning the league. |
