Match Report |
A stunning hat trick from Tyler Walsh capped a man of the match display as Caradon overcame a stubborn Isca side that used their experience to slow the game down and frustrate a Caradon side that struggle for fluency during the first half. That was despite taking the lead within 5 minutes when a bit of unselfish play from Finn Andrews cleverly laid off the ball to Jenson Cory in space when he would have been within his rights to have a shot. His weighted pass gave Cory the simple job of put the ball into a near unguarded net and he made no mistake. However despite the majority of the play Caradon were unable to extend their lead and the half end 1-0. Captain Fasey adjusted his formation for the start of the second half and within minutes Caradon had force their first short corner of the match. Walsh got a good connection on his shot which with a useful deflection off a defender doubled the lead. There next followed a quality team goal as the defence kept the ball and feed Luke Jeffery on the right, he broke into the opposition half and suddenly the defence was stretched. A well weighted ball into the corner of the D found David Lockett who broke into the D and fed the ball back to the top of the D where Walsh was waiting to crash an unstoppable shot into the goal. The final goal of the half was all Walsh as he brought the ball onto his reverse stick and smashed into from just inside the D into the top of the goal to complete his hat trick in style. Next up is a top of the table clash away at University of Exeter with the prize a potential 7 point gap at the top of the table.
