Match Report |
Caradon made a sluggish start to this game against unbeaten PGSOB and could have been behind within 5 minutes after a short corner was saved on the line by Skipper David Lockett and cleared to safety. This seemed to wake Caradon from their slumber and they were soon creating chances. The ball did find the back of the PGSOB net only for the umpire to have already blown to award Caradon a short corner which the keeper then saved. On the next attack Ben Hedley worked the ball into the D and was around the keeper only to be wiped out by the keeper in his follow through which resulted in a penalty flick. Hedley dusted himself down and duly slotted the ball home. Within minutes the advantage was extended as Paul Hunt shot over the keeper on his reverse stick but Caradon allowed a number of other chances to come and go as the half time arrived with no further goals. Caradon were more clinical in the second half with 5 more goals coming from open play as Hedley and Hunt added another each and Harrison Pollard, Robin Fraser and Jake Andrews joined them on the scoresheet. Caradon Second team are now on the verge of completing an incredible 2018 undefeated. With one fixture remaining before Christmas and the half way stage they have played 15 won 10 and drawn 5 and currently sit top of Div South West 2. The blend of youth and experience seems to be improving with every game as indicated by the spread of goal scorers and the awarding of the shared Man of the Match for this 7-0 win to the rock of defence that is Rapper Tamblin and young goalkeeper George Rowe who once again pulled off a couple of excellent saves to ensure his first clean sheet of the season.
