Match Report |
Whilst the wind did blow the rain at least stayed away as Caradon Men's Second Team looked to make it 3 wins out of 3. They got the perfect start as Ben Hedley had a mazy run through the D until he found some space on his reverse stick to crash the ball home inside 5 minutes. The lead was doubled after 15 minutes as the ball was pinging around the D until it came back to David Lockett at the top of the D who fired it quickly into the right hand corner. Duchy started to get more possession of the ball and made a couple of insertions into the Caradon D but Rapper Tamblin was on hand with a new trusty Lieutenant in Liam Champion to ensure all threats were effectively dealt with. Both teams were unable to make use of their only short corner of the half as the score remained 2-0 at half time. Having had a dip in tempo towards the end of the first half Caradon came out with more intent for the second half and Ben Hedley soon added a third, again on the reverse stick. Duchy did get one back through a break down the right which was squeeze home from a tight angle but the 3 goal cushion was soon restored when Ben Hedley completed his hat trick in a man of the match performance. Again he had a mazy run through the D until he had created some space on his reverse stick and he once again made no mistake firing the ball into the right hand corner. Caradon have another big test next weekend when they welcome Ashmoor to Liskeard for the first time with both teams putting unbeaten records on the line.
