Caradon got off to the perfect start in this promotion decider against Dart with a goal inside two minutes. A quick break down the right with good work from Ben Hedley saw the ball crossed into the D straight into the path of William Turpin who calmly slotted the ball between the Keepers legs. Caradon's momentum was then swiftly halted as the lights went out and it took 15 minutes for them to come back on again! Dart started to come back into the game and forced a couple of short corner but were unable to get a shot on target however after 20 minutes Dart broke down the left and the ball was fired into the D where a forward was able to get the faintest of touches on the ball which deflected it onto the post and in. In the second half the game became more stretched as both side searched for the winner. Harrison Pollard made an excellent break into the D and took the ball around the keeper only to strike his shot a metre wide. Caradon Captain David Lockett also had a decent chance from a short corner only to fire just wide of the left hand post. At the other end George Rowe, in goal, pulled off a couple of excellent saves to deny Dart a winner but try as they might Caradon were unable to force the winner that would have resulted in promotion. The draw in fact handed the runners up spot to Dart but Caradon second team can hold their heads high being the only team not to lose at Dart this year and having been unbeaten since Christmas Caradon second team will surely challenge strongly for promotion next season.
