Match Report | Caradon 2nds faced a tough match against Mannamead who are 2 points above them in the league, with both teams coming out fighting from the whistle it was always going to be a close match. Mannamead pressed hard but the Caradon defence held firm with Claire Brown, Rachael Spencer & Georgia Hall holding off the attacks. Caradon had lots of possession in the Mannamead half and some good advances at goal but were unable to find the back of the net and the first half finished 0-0. Caradon started the second half with determination and after some well worked passes a Longrigg strike on goal rebounded off a Mannamead player into the path of Leah Jones who crossed the ball to Daisy Hunn who deflected it into the goal, only for the umpire to blow the whistle to question dangerous play. Caradon were awarded a short corner but were unable to convert. Caradon worked hard all game with Rach Luiten on her debut for the 2nds and Nic Dymond's continuous strength in the middle of the pitch (earning her player of the match). The game finished 0-0 with both teams walking away with a point. Caradon now look towards their next game away to table top Penzance. |
