Match Report

Caradon travelled to Exeter looking to continue thier good run of form.

The team welcomed back Amy Batty from injury and she settled into the team staright away. With the slow pitch making life difficult for both teams it was Caradon who were starting to dominate. Carrina Hodge and Beth Harris were carving through the middle of the park and panic created in Exeters defence leading to a penalty corner being awarded. Alice Mays' accurate injection and Bizzie Dinnis' deft pass only left Clare Poad to find the back board.

1-0 at half time and the Cornish team looked comfortable and with the guidance of pivot, Marcia Burgess, Caradon continued to control the game. Helen Manley was breaking down play and attacking in the center of the pitch and was combining well with her fellow forwards. Player of the match, Dinnis, scored with a reverse shot after battling with her counter part to find space in the circle.

Against the run of play, Exeter broke down the left and scored a soft goal, but Caradon remained calm and continued to play great hockey. The two goal advantage was soon restored when a defence splitting ball fron Lauren Gouge found Poad and a sliding reverse pass found her strike partner Dinnis who made no mistake and allowed the travelling team breathing space until the final whistle.

This week Caradon entertain Tiverton in a mid table clash.
