Caradon ladies 3rd team hosted another new team in the league this week; Plym Marjons V's, but the team looked much stronger than Caradon had anticipated so they had to go out all guns blazing from the start.  Caradon changed the formation slightly for this match with Captain Shelley Lockett pushing up to centre forward to fill in the gap. Caradon started strong looking to push the ball up the pitch; Rachel Luiten, Pippa Hedley and Bryony Gubbins worked tirelessly in mid field intercepting the attacking balls with Kerryn Walsh and Abbi Strevens making great runs up the right side of the pitch, eventually a goal came after a strike from Hedley was saved by the Marjons keeper who kicked the ball up where Erryn Lockett managed to knock it in from the mid air rebound. Another goal came quickly after, from a short corner; Erryn pushed out to Shelley who drew the defender in then passed right for Hedley to strike home and the first half finished 2-0. 

Marjons came out with more attack in the second half and pulled back a goal after being awarded a short corner a few minutes into the second half. Shelley Lockett pressured the Marjons defence and with a great pass for Nic Batten found herself one on one with the keeper but her strike went marginally wide but with another run into the D she peeled the ball off to Katie Johnson whose shot from the top of the D and struck gold! Marjons however wouldn't back down and scored their second from open play. Caradon kept up the pace and with quick balls kept up the pressure on the defending D and the forth and final goal came from 'on form' Hedley. Joint player of the match this weekend was Bryony Gubbins and Pippa Hedley.
