Women's 3rd XI Vs Caradon 4th Team

Caradon 3rds took on their own clubs newly formed 4th team in this weeks battle. The 4th team came out fighting as the 3rds thought they would and made the 3rd string work hard in the first 20minutes of the game. The 3rds finally found their mojo and began using the passing game to penetrate the 4ths' 'D' and eventually (after lots of great saves from the 4ths keeper Emily Joyce) the first goal came through Bryony Gubbins and few minutes later a great strike by Zoe Harris from a tight angle found the back of the goal and the first half finished 0 - 2. 

The 4ths again came out fighting and kept their heads high with forwards Jo Howell, Emma Gliddon and Ellen Spencer using each other well to put pressure on the 3rds defence,  the 3rds kept calm and dealt with this pressure and yet again began to relax into their passing play using their wingers Kerryn Walsh / Abbi Strevens and Bryony to push the ball forward. The goals then started to come with Pippa Hedley (3) Katie Jones (3) and Erryn Lockett all being rewarded for their efforts.

Player of the match for the 4th team was Leah Strevens and for the 3rd team (in a closely fought competition) was Katie Jones.
