This top of the table clash between unbeaten DART A and CARADON A was as close as expected with very little to choose between the two sides. CARADON probably created more opportunities but DART had the better quality chances. DART were more composed on the ball but time and again were unable to breakthrough the backline marshalled by Rapper Tamblin whilst CARADON looked dangerous on the break with William Turpin causing the oppositions defence numerous problems. Unfortunately a lack of composure in the D meant that shots on target were at a premium. The second half followed a similar pattern only this time both team were able to force a number of short corners. DARTs best effort saw Keeper Toby Riddle diving full length getting a hand on the ball but it was still goal bound but fortunately the defender on the line was able to get some stick on the ball to deflect it onto the outside of the post and behind. CARADON finshed the game with a couple of short corners of their own. The first went just wide of the far post whilst the second was straight at the keeper and as Paul Rowe tried to cash in on the rebound he wore a stick to his forehead and the final whistle blew leaving both team to share the points. William Turpin was named man of the match and to keep it in the family father Richard picked up the award of Muppet! Next week sees the Second team take the short trip to Plymouth to play OPM hoping to find their scoring sticks again!
