Match Report |
Caradon went into the game with high hopes of success but came undone against a well drilled Marjons side and also battling against Storm Brian. In one of the rare periods of sunlight a Marjons attack down the right side of the pitch and a strong lifted shot past the goalkeeper's shoulder allowed them to take the lead. Caradon evened up the score before half time with Martin Batty smashing the ball at Leon Farrow in the 'D' who calmly deflected the ball into the top corner. Caradon pushed hard to take the lead but were thwarted before the half time whistle went. Caradon were sloppy from the outset of the second half and allowed Marjons to settle. They retook the lead through a scrappy shot corner. Marjons continued to press looking for a third goal but were kept out by resolute Caradon defending. 10 mins left and Caradon equalised through Lawrence Pullen, tidying up in front of goal after some good work from Finn Andrews and some sloppy Marjons defending. Caradon pressed for a winner but it was Marjons who came out on top, scoring the winner with 2 minutes to go. A last minute short corner was well by Marjons to allow then to take the win, leaving Caradon with only 1 win from 4 at the start of the season. Big thanks to everyone who supported on the sidelines in the pouring rain and Caradon move onto West Dorset next week.
