Match Report | The second round of the cup and Caradon IIIs were drawn against Bodmin ladies who play in South Division; two divisions above. Bodmin started strong, passing the ball around the pitch with ease and it wasn't long until they were rewarded their 1st goal. Caradon lacked a bit of confidence in the 1st half giving Bodmin too much respect on the ball and time to think about their next move and the first half finished 3-0 to the travelling side. Caradons team talk focused on keeping their shape, staying with players and believing in their own ability. Caradon battled harder in the second half thwarting the endless attacks on their goal. The defence of Zoe Harris, Jane Luiten, Shelley Lockett & Emma link ran theirselves ragged trying to stop the attacks and push the ball forward with some fantastic saves from keeper Lauren Bowdler. Mid fielders Daisy Hunn, Amy Greenbank & Charlotte Reed made some lovely runs forward supported by Leah Jones, Loiuse Jones & Karen Dyer to try and crack through the travelling sides back line. Erryn Lockett pressured Bodmins right line also causing them to feed the balls wide instead of through the middle of the park. Player of the match was jointly won by Erryn Lockett & Jane Luiten. Caradon never let their heads go down and battled on regardless and the final score was 0-6 to Bodmin. |
