Match Report | A great last game of the 2016 /2017 season for the ladies badgers team. They worked hard together against a well coached Bodmin side and came away 2 -1 winners. Bodmin started strong and dominated the possession game but Caradon twarted their efforts on goal with some well timed saves and hard kicks out by keeper Maddie Gubbins. With the game played in quarters; this gave Caradon the opportunity to regroup every 15minutes and make changes to change the flow of the game. Caradon finally settled and started to pass the ball quicker and use their wings and were awarded a goal through Ellen Spencer from some great play from Libby Walsh and Jo Howells on the right of the pitch. Bodmin managed to equalize and this gave them added confidence to again pressure the Caradon goal. Mid fileders and defenders; Nikki Bolt, Hazel Ashman, Anna Gubbins, Rachel Quick, Louise Jones and Sophie Downing worked hard stopping the traveling sides attacks. Caradon were awarded their 1st short corner of the game when Tilly Scott drove the ball into the D and on to a defenders foot. Bodmin managed to save the first strike but Caradon were awarded another corner, this time Libby Walsh slotted the goal home and Caradon were back ahead! Chloe Higman was unlucky not to score when she took the ball into the D but her shot was deflected. In the the dying seconds of the game Bodmin were awarded a penalty corner and pushed all their players up to attack the D, thankfully this was easily defended and Caradon came away winners!
