Match Report | 10-2 win puts Caradon safe. Caradon men's 1st XI played Devonport Services home at Lux park this weekend. Knowing 3 points would secure their place in Southern 2 for another season Caradon set straight to work pressuring the bottom of the league team. Martin Batty opened the goal scoring, taking a free hit outside the D, driving through the defence and slipping the ball past the keeper. Batty also got the second goal from a short corner strike. Caradon continued to press the attack in the first half scoring a further 4 goals to have a 6-0 lead going into half time. In the second half Caradon picked up another 2 goals quickly after the break but then complacency from the home team allowed Devonport to get in the score board from a broken down short corner and a penalty flick. Composing themselves Caradon regained control of the game adding a further 2 goals, taking the total into double figures. Man of the match Martin Batty and Fasey both scored hat tricks, Luke Jeffery got 2, both Lawrence Pullen and Neil Spencer scored 1. This Saturday Caradon play Plymouth University in their last league game of the season. |
