Match Report | West Dorset vs Caradon Two weeks running Caradon over come the odds, taking wins from tough games. With confidence high the in form Caradon team travelled to Bridport hoping to leap frog the Dorset team. The Caradon performance was lacklustre from the start, struggling to link up with each other and always being second to the ball. Despite the poor performance the best of the chances fell to Caradon in the first half but neither team managed to get on the score sheet. With the second half the team regained some of their normal hockey ability. Pressing the goal and causing the Dorset keeper to make a number of saves. West Dorset broke off a failed Caradon attack catching the defence off guard, the ball in hit Tim Wright's foot in front of goal causing the umpire to award a penalty flick. The player slipped the ball past Dan who went the wrong way. West Dorset weren't ahead for long, Caradon levelled up the score board with a goal from Man of the Match Sam Davy, who capitalised on a deflected short corner. The Dorset forward, with his back to goal, managed to find the back board putting them back in the lead. Caradon battled hard to level the game up and tempers boiled over as the Dorset team played for time eating up the remainder of game, after a couple sin bins for both teams the final whistle blew and Caradon's run of form had come to an end. A big weekend lays ahead for Caradon. On Saturday we seeking a rectify a loss to Bude earlier in the season. And on Sunday Truro host Caradon for a cup game. |
