Match Report Brigdwater vs Caradon 14/01/17 Two goals from Jeffery secure a win in the first game back after mid season break. After what seemed to be a long mid season break both teams seemed to be rusty. Two new players graced the pitch for the first time this season a big performance from Jamie Stormont and Man of the match contender Elliot Grange. It didn't take long for Caradon clear out the cobwebs, applying pressure on the Somerset team. After testing the keeper a couple times Sam Davy linked up with Luke Jeffery who calmly slotted the ball home. With a formation change and some fresh legs on the pitch caradon continued to open the Bridgwater defence, a quick transfer across the pitch have Jeffery space to drive with the ball along the back line, commit the keeper with a dummy pass before lifting the ball between the keeper securing the Man of the match vote. Before the end of the first half Bridgwater struck back, after a series of miss controls and a lucky run of the ball the Bridgwater forward ended up on the penalty spot with his back to Dan Harris, changing the direction of the ball, he slipped the ball in the bottom corner before Dan could react. Twenty seconds later the half time whistle went knocking the wind out of Caradon's sails. With a cagey start to the second half Caradon regained their cool and set back to work picking apart the Bridgwater defence. Caradon once exploited the space down the right, with the ball coming back across the top of the D, Davy picked the ball up, rolled onto his reverse whipping the ball into the bottom corner. With a buffer back in place Caradon set about securing the win, attacking and defending well but the score did not change and the game ended 1-3. A tough home game against Camborne School of Mines is waiting for Caradon next week with confidence high this would be a great scalp for the team.
