Women's 3rd XI Vs Okehampton III

The 1st match back in 2017 for the Caradon 3rd string was against Okehampton third team, having lost to them at the beginning of the season, caradon were keen to stamp their mark on the game and at least get come away with a point. Caradon started strongly and were soon creating chances on the traveling side goal. The first half was a tightly fought battle; the young stars of the future (Katie Jones, Erryn Lockett, Bryony Gubbins, Leah Jones, Daisy Hunn & Chloe Higman); battled well against an experienced Okehampton team and ran themselves ragged on the pitch to keep the pressure up. The first half finished 0-0 but with improvements to be made Caradon were confident they could push harder.

Caradon came out with even more fight and were again dominating the play. Finally a goal came from a hard pass into the 'D' from captain Shelley Lockett, found Chloe Higman's stick and was defected into the goal. This spurred Caradon on to push forward again and strive for another goal and a small margin.  Aventually Caradon got the goal they deserved whn the ball arrived at the feet of Karen Dyer and she popped the ball over the line.

A great start to the second half of the season. Player of the match was a tightly fought contest with so many players up for contention but Daisy Hunn came away with the accolade; much deserved too!!
