Men's 1st XI Vs Plymouth University A

Caradon men's 1st XI hosted Plymouth University A team at Lux Park on a grey, dark and very wet Saturday. 

An in form and youthful university team set about making a mark on Caradon from the first whistle. Caradon defended diligently giving the away team no clear chances also dealing with their short corner attempts calmly. 

The Plymouth team unfortunately managed to get on the score sheet after a scrappy section of play ended with the ball trickling over the line barely hitting the back board. 

The first half ended 1-0 to the away team. With the beginning of the second half Caradon can out refreshed and ready to battle. A section of pressure on the university's back line force a mistake, the Caradon mid field took advantage breaking through, commuting the defender and finding Ollie Allsop on the back post who calmly slotted it in. 

Caradon continued to apply pressure for the next 10 minutes but were not able to take the lead. The University team put their numbers to use and managed to bumble a second goal into the Caradon net.  Plymouth Uni then managed to ride the momentum scoring another two despite a Man of the match performance from Dan Harris and Tim Wright playing his heart out. 

Caradon in typical form fought on till the end, with a well work piece of play from the right across the mid field and out to the left where Alex Pollard laid the ball off to Chris Fasey who struck the ball on his reverse sending the ball 2 foot wide of the goal, fortunately a defender decided to help Caradon by deflecting the ball with his foot into the corner of the goal. 

Going into the Winter break Caradon are 9th in the league and with some good performances are hoping to have a better second half of the season. First league game back in January will be away to Bridgwater.
