Devonport Sevices vs Caradon 1st XI

Caradon 1st XI travelled down to Plymouth to play bottom of the table, Devonport Services this weekend. Devonport were the team promoted with Caradon last season and Caradon were keen to re-establish their dominate ways of the previous year. Starting the game with only 10 men Caradon’s victory never seemed in any doubt, pressuring Devonport, testing the keeper and woodwork, the first goal was proving to be allusive however.

With the appearance of Leon Farrow Caradon had a full team of 11 and set about getting off the mark. Winning every battle across the pitch and working the ball up the pitch Caradon scored a scrappy goal, slotted home calmly by Ollie Allsop.

Scoring the first goal opened the flood gates for Caradon, allowing them to score another 3 goals before half time, taking the score to 4-0.

In the second half Caradon set about securing the win, aggressively defending stopping the Devonport offensive line before they could build an attack. At the other end of the pitch Caradon continued to attack scoring a further three goals to finish the game 7-0.

Goal scorers were Ollie Allsop with his second hat trick of the season, Leon Farrow, Finn Andrews, who played his last game for Caradon this season and man of the match Jenson Cory who had an outstanding game in the middle of the pitch.

Caradon are sat 8th on the table with just one more game before the Christmas and mid-season break, however next week will be a tough game against an inform Plymouth University team.
