Caradon vs Taunton Vale C

Caradon played for a hard fought win against the visitors, Taunton Vale, this Saturday. The Final result was 5-2 in Caradon’s favour.

After first win of the season last week, Caradon were confident about playing Vale at home. This confidence could have proved to be devastating for Caradon, the visitors came out of the blocks and forced Caradon back applying waves of pressure. The defensive team held firm against the onslaught of attacks, until a deflection off Dan Harris fell to the forward who lifted it over the Caradon Keeper to take a 1-0 lead. The Taunton team were not happy with one goal lead and after Caradon failed to clear a short corner they soon picked up a second goal.

Caradon now 2-0 down dug deep and took the opportunity to test the visitors defence, with a well worked attack with Ollie Allsop feeding the ball into Fasey to put the home team on the score board. A second goal for Fasey came soon after with a short corner drag flick to the top right corner. Caradon continued to apply pressure on Vale with a couple attempted testing the Taunton goal keeper, but the first half drew to an end 2-2.

Caradon came out fighting in the second half, tightening up their defence giving Vale no room to breath. Stepping up their offence Caradon worked hard for each other creating chances for the team, a run down the right by Luke Jeffery opened up the Taunton defence before passing the ball to Jack Rowe who calmly slotted the ball into the back board, opening his scoring account in adult hockey. Luke was not satisfied with just setting up goals he wanted to score! With sheer determination Jeffery did just that, tackling the last defender, rounding the keeper, slotting the ball home and then claiming a second before the final whistle. Caradon 5, Taunton Vale 2.
