Caradon 1st XI vs Chard

This weekend Caradon hosted the exotic team of Chard. The Somerset team travelled well and were straight out of the blocks with a lust for goals netting their first one from a well placed short corner. Caradon’s defence took a battering during the remainder of the first half, but only conceded one other goal before the end of the first half.

Half time could not come soon enough for the home team, an inspired motivating team talk seemed to do the trick. Caradon took to the field anew pressing the traveller’s defence hard, finally causing them to crack with a well constructed goal, Finn Andrews setting up the Man of the Match Leon Farrow.

Unfortunately Caradon could not keep the press on the Chard team and despite a brave and defiant display from Dan Harris in goal, the away team managed to score a further five goals.

Late in the second half Caradon managed to gather them selves and get a consolation in the form of a goal from a short corner with Chris Fasey slotting it the bottom corner. The final whistle blew and the game ended 2-7. Next week Caradon Men 1st XI will travel to Plymouth to play PGSOBs.
