Match Report | Caradons Mens 1st II played host to Bridgewater A for their opening match of the 2016-17 season. WIth a few of last seasons familiar faces missing it would be a tough opening match for the newly promoted Cornish side. It was a hard fought game with both teams having goal scoring opportunities but it was the homeside who scored first, when after a twisting run Finn Andrews found the back of the visitors net. Bridgewater were looking a little lost when trying to push forward and Stephen Hayes playing his first senior league game defended with great skill. Timing his jab tackles so well robbing Bridgewater of possesion again and again. The visitors increased the pressure on Caradon and it was only a matter of time before it paid off. Despite the best efforts of the Caradon defense who had fended off Bridgewater again and again it was only a matter of time before they managed to even the score. The full time whistle would blow shortly, leaving the scores tied giving Caradon their first point of the season. Even though it was slightly disappointing end result to the game it gives a good base for the team to build on in the coming months. |
