Match Report | After last weeks’ impressive display Caradon travelled to Tiverton in high hopes of getting at least a point. Although missing 4 regular first team players, Caradon adapted well and looked hard to break down. Beth Harris was in tenacious mood and allowed little to pass through the middle of the pitch, her battling performance inspired the midfield to keep the tempo up to contain the Eagles. At half time the game was evenly poised but as the Cornish team started to tire, it was player of the match Helen Dellbridge who made a string of fantastic saves to maintain the stalemate. The game was becoming scrappy and Caradon did well to stay calm in what was an extremely competitive contest. With ten minutes to play a penalty corner was awarded and despite Sharon Jeffery and Delbridges’ best efforts, a deflected shot found the roof of the net. Caradon continued to push forward but could not find the equaliser. |
